A polluted pond!

Silence all around,

What is that I see, so big and round?

And what are these shiny beads;

Which seem like lightning seeds?

Suddenly I realize that I am in space and not in my room.

Serenity all around that a pin drop sounds like a boom.

No signs of life; no matter where I see

But for the blue planet whom I dearly decree

That she is the one the only one

Who can give as well as protect life.

And I stop to wonder, why we destroy thee

Without any remorse, hate or even pity.

For you are our mother and everything beyond.

I vow that I’ll do all I can to stop you from becoming a polluted pond!

Hello folks! This is the first poem I have ever written. I was not quite sure whether I should write poetry. But my very close friend Harsha convinced me to give it a try. And here it is. Waiting for your appreciations and criticism.
